Guided tour by Land Rover to the "Gorropu" gorge (one of the highest in Europe). Approximately 1h walk. The route winds through a marvellous mosaic of natural scenarios and is divided into two stages: from Dorgali towards Supramonte, passing through the Valle di Oddoene, and then proceeding into the Gorropu gorge.

Oddoene Valley
The SS 125 road goes from Dorgali to Baunei. After the crossroads to Cala Gonone, we take the first road on the right. The landscape is a succession of Mediterranean scrub, granite rocks and vineyards, olive groves and orchards, which are alternated with typical farmers' houses. The valle di Oddoene is one of the most important production areas of the famous wine Cannonau di Dorgali. The route passes marvellous holm oak groves, on the sides of Monte Oddeu. Then it rises and offers a wonderful view all over the valley.

Gorroppu Canyon
Leaving behind us the Sa Barva bridge, a dirt road arrives at a gate on the left. After a walk of around an hour and a half we arrive at the Gorroppu gorge, a deep incision in the rocks created and shaped by the Flumineddu stream, along the route from the Orgosolo and Urzulei plateaux to the artificial lake of the Cedrino River. Once inside the gorge, we can appreciate its grandeur: Gorroppu is the deepest canyon in Europe, with almost vertical walls up to 500 metres. The path follows the bed of the Flumineddu river, featuring crags separated by small "swimming pools" and spots of rare botanical species here and there. Every so often there are big stones along the way, which have to be bypassed or passed over, or in other places the path is covered by the sand of the river. Now and then there is a cave, while on the steep sides rare species of raptors nest. After a one-hour walk inside the gorge, we reach the small lakes, 10-15 metres long, which mark the end of the tour.
